A message from SGA:

Class of 2019, get out the vote! Wouldn't it be nice to set a record for being the first-year class with the highest percentage of voter turnout? Encourage all your friends to vote starting this Monday, September 21st, 9am. Voting ends Friday, September 25th @ 12:00 noon, with results announced at 5:00pm. 

To vote, please visit the "On Campus" box on the right of this page: https://my.barnard.edu/CampusLife/Pages/Main.aspx), where you will find platforms and the ballot.

Dear Barnard Class of 2019:

Barnard’s Student Government Association is excited that the First-Year Class Council Elections are under way. However, there is still time to get involved!

SGA First-Year Class Council Elections:

All first-year students are eligible to run for the following positions: First-Year Class President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.

Note: if you are interested in running for First-Year Class President or Vice President, SGA’s Representative Council meets every week on Monday evenings from 8-10PM in the Second Floor Dining Room of The Diana Center. First-Year Class President and Vice President sit on the Representative Council, and therefore must attend every meeting. They must also attend the SGA Retreat from October 3rd-4th.


To run for a position during First-Year Elections you must:
  • Attend 1 of the remaining information sessions, at which you will receive information about the open positions and elections process, as well as have the opportunity to ask questions:
    • Wednesday, September 16th |6pm - 8pm| SLC Office (Located in Liz’s Place)
    • Thursday, September 17th | 12pm - 2pm | 7pm - 9pm | SLC Office (Located in Liz’s Place) 
  • Follow the submissions and deadlines of Elections Timeline below. 

Elections Timeline:

Thursday, September 17th 11:59 PM: Submit your Intent to Run form, Platform, & photo to the Elections Commission at sgaelections@barnard.edu.

Friday, September 18th 9AM: Confirmation of Candidacy due, Electronic Campaigning Begins.

Friday, September 18th 11:59PM: Campaign flyers must be submitted via email to sgaelections@barnard.edu.

Sunday, September 20th 6PM: Candidates Forum in Diana 504. Come support!

Monday-Friday, September 21st -25th: Voting on my.Barnard.edu.

September 25th by 5PM: Elections results via email.
